I've been in this fight for a civilization that's been very good to us, bequeathed by the post WWII "Greatest (GI Bill) Generation"... the only exceptional global experiment in flat-fair enlightenment. A flawed but incrementally improving society and nation, at least somewhat dedicated to science, fact and developing goodwill... that's been steadyingly dismantled by servants of foreign powers and haters of modernity.
Time is short and so, tonight, I'll just post some links and then some JPEGs that might be of use to the few of you who know a fence-sitter or Republican who shows glimmering signs of residual sanity and patriotism. Some other JPEGs were featured at the end of my previous, blog about UFO / UAP fetish cultism.
Everyone is urging everyone else to vote! And sure, do that. Today, maybe check your registration, especially if you are in a red state. And (maybe?) gently see if your local MAGA's wife might be interested in ways to quietly cancel his...
== First... for those of you who still read... ==
1) The context for all this - I've long asserted - is a centuries-old cultural schism in the American psyche between those who feel pro- or anti-modernity. Today's MAGA love of zillionaire oligarchs and "strong" foreign tyrants is a romantic, pro-feudalism trait carried from 6000 years of hell that we only recently escaped, via science and the Enlightenment.
In the 1770s, this manifested as loyalty to King George. In the 1860s half a million poor southern Shiites died for their "Gone With The Wind" plantation/ slaver lords. Today there's astounding/horrifying Republican nostalgia for... Hitler. Alas, history shows they back down to accept "malice toward none" and zillion$ of net benefits from Blue America, but only AFTER an Appomattox.
If that historical patter interests you, see my earlier posting.
and. http://davidbrin.blogspot.com/2014/09/phases-of-american-civil-war.html
2) Far too little is made of the Turpitude Gap. If we set aside Utah & Alaska & Illinois as outliers (or even if we don’t) average rates of almost every turpitude are far higher across Red-run states than Blue-led ones: from gambling, addiction, STDs, domestic violence and murder to teen sex, divorce and net tax parasitism on the rest of the nation. National Republican administrations are always spendthrift wastrels, sending deficits skyrocketing, while Democratic ones are always far more fiscally responsible. Always. And military readiness which always plummets (as now) under GOP regimes since Reagan. I welcome $$$ wagers on any of that. (See one of the jpegs, below.)
3) Adam Smith - so-called Market Conservatives never mention him anymore... or the words 'fair competition. If here here now, Adam Smith would be a flaming Democrat. Liberals, you must reclaim him!
4) If you'd care to interrogate your own ideology, as an honest person would, try my Questionnaire on Ideology?
5) Here's a whole BOOK of fresh TACTICS that Democratic politicians seem incapable of ever innovating...
6) Only how about a more concise and recent set of pragmatic measures that Dems could shoot for - and a few would not even be thwarted by Trump vetoes!
Here are my own proposed Newer Deal tactics and reforms. I promise some will make you go 'huh!' And Again... BOY do the leaders of the good side in this struggle need fresh ideas!
== Attack of the JPEGs! ==
Here are more examples that I've collected. Jpeg-box memes are a necessary art form, because the alien brain-suppression ray that I spoke of last time has clearly given us the attention spans of fruit flies.

Israel's election seems to have been a draw, either side having the Options to be tolerated or supported by the Arab minority parties or forming a grand coalition.
Or seek new elections in a few weeks.
From what I heard last night (USA time), Netanyahu gained seats, but at the expense of his coalition partners rather than of his opponents.
It looks like the Arab minority parties will be the king makers.
How ironic.
Maybe noteworthy - recently, 9 out of 12 military boards convened to remove openly trans soldiers or sailors (as per Secdef Kegstand's wishes) have refused to do so. This IS resistance.
Pappenheimer
I still await some officers working to rule, refusing illegal orders and demanding a court martial. I am in no position to judge these folks! I am among those praising and supporting them. But I am starting to wonder.
It's not 'irony' to allow the non-jewish Arab minority parties to decide the fate of a Jewish Israel, any more than it was 'irony' for the Nazi SS to apply the death sentence to the occupants of their concentration camps, as it is 'not-irony' to anticipate the expected outcome.
Likewise, there is nothing 'ironic' about our fine host's linked questionnaire that asked its participant to choose between knowledge & ignorance, openness & hatred and freedom & tyranny, as each of these putatively 'free' choices is so extreme as to be no choice at all.
In a less pre-determined manner, however, I will address this so-called 'Turpitude Gap' by allowing this blog's participants to assign conservative or progressive sentiments to the following 10 Commandments:
1. You shall have no other gods before me, nor shall you attempt to make yourselves into gods.
2. You shall not make idols or carved images to worship, nor shall you worship technology, AI or progress.
3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, nor shall you worship change for its own sake.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, by maintaining & conserving your historical traditions.
5. Honor your father and your mother by conserving their values, morals & traditions.
6. You shall not murder, especially those for which you have enmity, as in the case of your unwanted pregnancies & your political opponents.
7. You shall not commit adultery & perversion, even after redefining them in terms of sexual freedom & openness.
8. You shall not steal, nor shall confiscate & redistribute the wealth of others for your own personal benefit.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor (lying in a legal or communal setting), as you do by assuming guilt (and/or 'a vast blackmail conspiracy') prior to due legal process.
10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house, wife, or possessions, nor shall tax, confiscate or redistribute that which you covet on an incremental basis in the name of fairness & equality.
Note that it is the progressive contingent which is most prone to violate (and 'rebel against') each & every one of the 10 Commandments in the name of Progress & Change, and (as noted by Robert Service) this is the strain of their devilish song:
We have outlived the old standards; we have burst, like an over-tight thong,
The ancient, outworn, Puritanic traditions of Right and Wrong.

Even with Locum's new interpretations of the 10 Commandments, violations thereof are largely in the province of the Republican party.
Jibberer. ALL of those are violated vastly more by your mad cult. Actual physical behaviors and actions. Wagers? But I forget. The Eighth Deadly Sin is COWARDICE and beyond the first seven, you are also a pack of weenies.
Sen. Slotkin describes the Senate running “table-top” exercises on how to deal with a Trump authoritarian “election takeover” attempt. She's very circumspect here. But I hope they gamed a variety of scenarios. I have no fear of the mainline uniformed US military. If it came to a true crisis, they would side with the people. But small, fanatical teams -- with foreign help and possibly propelled by a staged "Reichstag Fire" -- could do a lot of havoc.
In particular, a dozen or two arrests, disappearances or killings could cripple a looming Dem Congressional majority. Hence, every Democratic elected official or candidate should up their security precautions, Change their movement patterns. Hire some top FBI folks fired by Bestiality Patel. Track changes made by Mike Johnson to the Capitol Police. Game possible meeting places other than the Capitol to form a quorum (maybe with five or so decent Republicans) and even bypass Johnson.
Above all, study the sequence in 1933 Berlin, which is the Project 2025 playbook.

There's also another guideline:

As envisaged, Gen. Butler would assume a military dictatorship as 'Secretary for General Affairs' after a coup and FDR would be retained as a figurehead, much like the King of Italy under Mussolini.

P.S. a lesson of the 20th century appears to be that if the comfortable class can be convinced that communism is a real threat, they will support fascism. Currently the GQP is hyping a commie/trans/Mooslim threat even though most democrats are 'none of the above' - but as James Michener and John Steinbeck both pointed out, if you are fearmongering that communists want to make working lives better, this may backfire a bit.
"Hey, boss, who are these communists you're talking about, anyway?"
"A communist is a man who wants thirty cents more an hour."
"Well, then, I'm a communist. I guess every man here is a communist."
I'm reminded of a line from a comedic horror movie with Vincent Price, "Theater of Blood",
"Only Lionheart would have the temerity to re-write Shakespeare!"
But if you want to go there...
1. You shall have no other gods before me, especially not Donald Trump
2. You shall not make idols or carved images to worship, nor shall you worship Donald Trump
3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, as in quoting "Two Corinthians" and thanking God for the war in Iran
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, by ...I got nothing.
5. Honor your father and your mother, unlike the way Donald Trump does.
6. You shall not murder, especially the stranger among you.
7. You shall not commit adultery & perversion, unlike Donald Trump or Lindsey Graham or Larry Craig or...it would be easier to list the male Republicans who don't violate this one.
8. You shall not steal, nor shall confiscate & redistribute taxpayer dollars allocated by Congress for your own personal benefit.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor (lying in a legal or communal setting), as you do by vindictive prosecution of political enemies, especially as in the case of the reflecting pool when the so-called vandalism was your own fault.
10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house, wife, or possessions the way Donald Trump does.
LOL.
Re-read the Moral Turpitude List as cited by our fine host, the heavily redefined one that he says includes "gambling, addiction, STDs, domestic violence, divorce, murder, teen sex, teen pregnancy (and) net tax parasitism", and then SHOW ME any Abrahamic religious texts which names these behaviors as sins, turpitudes or offenses against god, and I'll gladly accept any cash wager stakes that Dr. Brin is willing to pay.
Even funnier is Dr Brin's professed faith in the US military, as he assumes that the US military (a fascist-by-design organization wherein 80% of the enlisted come from conservative Red States), as this is the very same sentiment expressed by the now voiceless German Jews who believed that their friends & fellow countrymen would see them first as Germans & never as enemies-of-the-state.
As expressed by our fine host, the above sentiments are sadly typical of most well-educated, moderately successful & apparently white establishmentarians who likewise assume that the increasingly violent 'raging' rioters will see them as allies rather than as the bourgeois-oppressors-that-they-are, as if the BLM stickers on their luxury SUVs will repel harm as effectively as passover lamb's blood on their doorframes.
Remember that the rule-of-law is always the first casualty of a riotous escalation, and ask yourselves if you already have 3, 7 or 90 days of the basic necessities on hand, as recently directed by both the EU & US governments?
Or, have you completely ignored the panicky messaging of your own established governments & their legacy media, preferring only to believe the delulu voices in your own heads?

What is Eric Prince doing these days?
Last I heard he is involved in fighting gangs in Haiti. Part of his payments will be tariffs if that nation ever gains a semblance of stability.
He could be very well a Sulla, one day.
The Ten Commandments by Locum? Well, I immediately had to think of Cardinal von Galen when he preached against the Nazi Party bigwigs, addressing them in His sermons directly.
This one goes out to Locum directly:
Who will be able to trust his doctor any more? He may report his patient as 'unproductive' and receive instructions to kill him. It is impossible to imagine the degree of moral depravity, of general mistrust that would then spread even through families if this dreadful doctrine is tolerated, accepted and followed.
That said, I am with OGH at this one. Trump and his cronies know they are vulnerable, and their desperation grows every hour.
Those who do not flee in advance - like Peter Thiel - are very ... motivated to do very illegal things, because their Personal survival and liberty might be at stake.
Don't be too surprised of flights booked to countries that do not extradite to the US in the next years.
"Don't be too surprised of flights booked to countries that do not extradite to the US in the next years."
I'm ok with that. The next best thing to them all relocating to Mars. Or the Rapture.
Again, an idiot. Turpitudes include offenses biblical AND non biblical. Or is he saying that "gambling, addiction, STDs, domestic violence, divorce, murder, teen sex, teen pregnancy (and) net tax parasitism" are just fine? His leader and entire cult spew LIES beyond any dream of Lenin. Oh and my faith in the US military is not about them being military. It is from having met and known many in the services forged by George Marshall. Your entire movement is evil top to bottom. Traitors, liars and hypnotizers of millions of decent neighbors. And you gonna lose.

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
I took these seriously as a kid and still think they are a good idea.
I don't see how any former Scout could vote for these folks.
Alfred,
I was also a scout, but the 'reverent' part didn't fit me. (I also refused to go to Sunday School). I do remember that in rumpT's first term he gave a speech at (iirc) the Jamboree and spent some time discussing using yachts as 'sex boats' in front of thousands of scouts from across the nation, to the acute displeasure of his Sec'y of State, Rex Tillerson, who was a former president of the Scouts. I don't know when Tillerson started referring to rumpT as a 'F--ing Idiot', but I have my guesses.
That obviously didn't stop plenty of Scouts from voting for the Orange One. You have to remember that old B-P originally thought of the Scouts as a beginner paramilitary organization, something like the Komsomol or Hitler Jugend. Some of the OLD handbooks I've seen included tactics for evading sentries.

Yah. I began to see the differences between the ideals we were taught and what some of the adults around me actually believe when I was about 15. I dealt with the 'reverent' part by being respectful of the differences of beliefs I saw all around me. I grew up on Air Force bases, so the men leading us were pretty careful about avoiding religion.
The one time I expressed an interest in learning how to march, my father was VERY down on the idea. He just rolled his lip up, I knew exactly what he thought of it, and nothing came of it. In later years we got quite good at communicating with each other using single grunts and shrugs. 8)
I eventually left when I couldn't handle the hypocrisy, but I think the ideals are mostly solid where they address what makes a person of good character. Only SOME people taught me that the phrases in the law applied to white people and not those others, but most tried to avoid the stereotypes. No doubt my experience would have been different if I'd grown up in other areas.
(For the record, I didn't get to California until I was 21. The direction my character leans was learned around military people and folks in small towns in mostly western states and one prairie state.)
(funny side note)
I learned to swear from a young Marine when I was 12, but didn't take that lesson home around my parents. It was always f*ckin' this and f*ckin' that with that guy who really wasn't much older than I was at the time.

Well that didn't take long.
Netanyahu, the Israeli religious right and their American allies like Mike Levin have dropped their masks and have now made it explicit that they want an Israel that is a Jewish ethnostate instead of a liberal democracy.
At which point you have to ask why bother supporting Israel if it becomes a Jewish version of Iran.
Just a few quick mentions:
1. George C. Marshall DIED in 1949, almost 80 years ago, long before the Volunteer US military, the crushing series of losses beginning with Vietnam & other humiliating US military boondoggles, so claiming this George's lasting US military legacy as the reason for our fine host's faith in our military is as absurd as citing George A. Custer's lasting US military legacy (of failure) 80 years before that.
2. The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is also long dead, wounded first by Civil Rights lawsuits in the 1990s for discriminating against gays, forced to employ and admit gays & homosexuals by 2015, then murdered in 2020 after being sued into bankruptcy for a rampant gay sexual abuse scandal precipitated by the forced incorporation 'gayness' into their definition of 'reverent'.
What's left is just called 'Scouts' now, btw.
And the above progressive tactic of 'Incremental Change intended to eventually destroy time-honored conservative institutions' has been applied to practically every western institution ever since, including the US military.
(3) Finally, Dr Brin actually admits that his list of Blue & Red moral turpitudes is purely SECULAR, which is a very dishonest & culturally relativistic way of condemning red conservatives for the 'sins' that blue progressives celebrate as 'virtues', insomuch as the very same 'teenage pregnancies' which are a blight on red states are the much celebrated 'single mothers' of the progressive blues.
Again, we see this 'Progressive Perfidity' with the deliberate application of incremental changes designed to completely corrupt & destroy practically every time-honored conservative western institution, so much so that George C. Marshall would be horrified to see what progressives have done to his once triumphant US military.

Please explain why a 'Jewish Ethnostate' -- or, any 'Ethnostate' for that matter -- cannot qualify as a 'Democracy' from your warped perspective, even when those nations regularly allow citizens of all genders & sexual orientation to vote in fair and free elections.
"why bother supporting Israel if it becomes a Jewish version of Iran."
I'm all for supporting Israel as a haven for Jews who can't be first-class citizens elsewhere.
However, it loses me when it becomes a militant enforcer or orthodoxy, no matter if the dominant religion is my own.
I understand the dilemma of a Jewish homeland in which Jews are outvoted, but I'd have preferred something along the lines of "Any Jewish person can live here as a full citizen," enshrined in the constitution while still allowing all citizens, Jew and otherwise, to participate in governance. The ship has probably sailed, though.
And the US officials are no friends of Jews. They just hate Muslims more.
Maybe because those who are not part of an ethnostate's dominant ethnicity would be by definition second class citizens at best. Any nation that does extend rights to everyone is not a democracy.
"George C. Marshall would be horrified to see what progressives have done to his once triumphant US military."
Hegseth is a progressive?

Vietnam was a calamity of empire. In the aftermath, the Marshallian officer corps - good - weeded out almost all of the remaining macho thugs (except some Colorado Springs fanatics.) I'll not waste time or breth defending the brilliant Marshallian officer corps from traitors like locum.
"You UTTERLY lie. "Finally, Dr Brin actually admits that his list of Blue & Red moral turpitudes is purely SECULAR," half of the scads of turpitudes Redder lead in are banned by scripture and thus utter hypocrisies. The others like pedo-predation are now - locum openly avows - just GREAT! since redders do them far, far more.

After the next election, or if he resins or is forced out of office, be sure to take Trump's passport from him so he can't pull a Bolsanaro and flee to Russia.
Not sure if that would be a good thing - Trump fleeing could be the last straw that finally gets through to the MAGA idiots
I don't doubt that MAD magazine factored in there somewhere for me too. The 70's finished up as a decade of cynicism. One can see this in the movies produced. I couldn't see that at the time because I was in the flow, but it's obvious now.
I SAY I began to see the differences back then, but that's an ex post factor explanation. What actually happened was more of an itch and I stopped going to scouting activities. I made it to Philmont with many of the others in our troop, but then we went home to North Dakota and my opinions changed somewhere along the way. That itch didn't exactly leave a hole, though. I filled that time doing other stuff like learning, making money... and thinking about girls. 8)
locumranch,
Meh. You are looking at what has happened to the BSA in modern times. I'm a product of 'scouting' from the late-60's through the 70's. None of what happened recent matters to the person them helped shape me to be.
The Orange Doofus offends my inner boy scout. I can't see why every other scout from my generation doesn't feel exactly the same way. Which clause of the scout's law does he NOT violate?

"The 70's finished up as a decade of cynicism. One can see this in the movies produced."
You might already be familiar with this, but there's a Netflix documentary about this very thing. It credits 1975 in particular for such movies, although it cheats on that with a few examples. And it blames Rocky and Star Wars for bringing the era of that sort of film to an end.
Perhaps the Arab parties will be the peacemakers. Have them in an informal coalition government and give them the albatross of convincing Hamas to surrender, and if they fail they look as bad as Jared Kushner.
I found something I agree with POTUS on. AI is the wrong term for this wave. I'd reverse SI and use Imitation Sapience (IS). Has a nice Bletchley ring to it as well. I'm finding that hosting a modest LLM on a decent personal computer gives one 90% of the power*, something that wouldn't be even remotely possible with true AI, let alone AGI.
* and more significantly, the ability to train on idiosyncratic domains
BTW I came up with IS after ruminating on ailien minds; OGH wrote the book on sapience (no intended slight to Harari), not I.
You've frequently noted the inanity of oligarchs thinking they can keep safe in bunkers. All the competent people they've hurt over the years will be really mad, and really good at doing something about it.
I just heard Scott Galloway (prof @ NYU school of business), in a conversation with Heather Cox Richardson (historian, previously @ MIT and Boston College), say much the same thing.
At about 28:15 into the interview:
28:15 Um they don't listen to Heather Cox Richardson. They have a total lack of understanding of history. it doesn't or
28:22 they're comfortable that they're I mean this is a crude example. A friend of mine who is a tech billionaire has a

28:38 to head to your bunker New Zealand. I'm like you don't think your pilots are going to kill you and take your ? I mean there is no escaping if things really get this bad.

Any escape for a true malefactor would depend on utter loyalty by the people accompanying them. All it takes is one person with access and a grudge to end that branch of survivalist dynasty.
I really shouldn't argue with dimwitted progressive 'redefiners' who cannot read a dictionary, as in the case of Celt who now argues "Any nation that does (not) extend rights to everyone is not a democracy," even though he & his anti-democratic ilk routinely attempt to deny rights to nazis, ethno-nationalists, billionaires, oligarchs, pedophiles, sexists, racists, conservatives, any effective political opposition & everyone they don't like.
No, no, no.
The currently accepted definition of the term 'Democracy', across all enlightened western nations, is as follows:
1. Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives;
2. A political or social unit that has such a government;
3. The common people, considered as the primary source of political power; and
4. Majority rule.
These Celt-like 'redefiners' are either complete idiots or manifestly evil liars, as they routinely disparage actual Majority Rule Democracy in favour of tyrannical minority rule by their own personal elites, as in the case of Dr Brin's Professional Managerial Caste.
So get this & get this good:
You're not 'a democrat' or 'a democracy supporter' if you don't accept majority rule because majority rule is what democracy looks like, even if it means rule by enthno-nationalists, conservatives, religionists & other deplorables and the subsequent marginalization of minority freaks, geeks & intellectuals.
Best
______
In an obvious Freudian Slip, notice how Celt openly prefers Minority Rule Tyranny over Majority Rule Democracy, as he (unconsciously??) omitted the word 'not' in his original statement & actually stated that "Any nation that does extend rights to everyone is not a democracy".
These people are monsters dressed in sheep's clothing.
"All it takes is one person with access and a grudge..."
I would assume that's why they're so hot about AI and robot servants.
"You're not 'a democrat' or 'a democracy supporter' if you don't accept majority rule because majority rule is what democracy looks like, even if it means rule by enthno-nationalists, ..."
The earlier post you're responding to was talking about Israel becoming a minority-ruled ethno-state in the manner that Rhodesia and South Africa used to be. So you're agreeing with him, albeit unintentionally, that apartheid is not democracy.
Not much danger of that in Israel's case. The demographic trends favor more ethno-nationalism, as far as I know. One advantage they have over the liberal West is that not just anybody can wander in from anywhere, claim citizenship and start voting; they actually have ethnic restrictions on membership, which makes it very difficult for them to be transformed by immigration. If it's good for the Jews, surely it's good for the rest of us, right?
There’s a similar situation in India, where the conservative Hindu majority has rejected the old anglofied liberal elite in favor of leaders who better represent them, and of course they want to unify against the Muslims. Again, this is democracy in action. Globalist liberals aren't really about democracy, they're about rule by the self-proclaimed smartest and goodest people like our host here, a small group who then mold the opinions of the masses and expect them to follow their lead. When this fails and they lose elections, they can’t openly attack democracy, so they call it evil "populism" (i.e. democracy they don't approve of), insult the voters, blame it on foreign interference, etc.
Democracies clearly work best in homogeneous societies. In a multi-ethnic state, the largest group naturally dominates the minority electorally, and your patriotism might be called into question (as we see in Israel, where there’s an effort to disenfranchise the Arab vote). Not a very stable situation, particularly if you do what many Western countries have done and allow the ethnic minorities to become continually larger through mass immigration. This actually makes your society less liberal over time, because social trust declines, values aren’t shared and you no longer feel as secure in your homeland. Eventually you might get burning buildings, riots and civil wars, as we’re starting to see. But try explaining all this to committed globo-liberals, who have a kind of religious belief in the badness of majoritarian ethno-politics (at least where their own kind are concerned), and it’s like debating evolution with a creationist. All you can do is wait for events on the ground to refute their faith and society to collapse. Shouldn’t be too long now in some of the most advanced liberal societies.

There have been a fair number of stories like this in the Trump era: Republican activist tries to commit voter fraud, gets caught. We would say they are actually helping to prove the opposite point of the one they intended to prove.
Just sayin'
"Democracies clearly work best in homogeneous societies. In a multi-ethnic state, the largest group naturally dominates the minority electorally, ...
Except in Israel's case, the right-wing ultra-orthodox dominate the rest of the population, even those who are also Jewish. There's homogeneous and there's mostly-homogeneous.
"...and your patriotism might be called into question (as we see in Israel, where there’s an effort to disenfranchise the Arab vote).
That effort to disenfranchise the Arab vote before they can out-breed the Jewish vote is exactly what was meant above by apartheid not being democratic.
Dr. Brin,
This ex-Army lady has an explanation for why there haven't been more direct order refusals by officers; much of what the military has been asked to do is legal by the ridiculously loose rules of the AUMF. She DID identify one completely clear war crime - the 'double tap' where a follow-up missile struck the crew of a 'drug boat' trying to stay alive in the Caribbean after it had been hit and sunk. If the operator and the person who gave the order ever face a tribunal, they are cooked, because "Ve vas chust followink orders" did not fly at Nuremburg. The laws of war - and there are laws - are very very clear on conduct towards the crews of sunken enemy vessels. If we can't legally machine-gun U-boat crews in the water we can't do it to random civilians, either, and we DID successfully prosecute a U-boat commander who ordered a freighter crew machine-gunned after their ship sank.

The pragmatic answer to the Ceribbean boat murders is more inarguable than the moral or legal ones (and those should be plenty, since none of the boats we've seen could have reached US shores. The practical answer is simple... In most cases the crews could have been pursued, captured, arrested and INTERROGATED! The neglect of seeking intel is THE smoking gun in this mess. It proves that they have no idea whether these are criminals or not and don't want their narratives scrutinized.
